There is no reason to delay your prep work for this year's CQ WW DX SSB Contest, as over four thousand contest logs from the 2007 test are now available online. This is the second year that CQ Magazine has made individual logs available on the internet.

While many contesters struggled with tough band conditions, Tom Georgens W2SC overcame a slow start from 8P1A and could be heading for a third straight WPX SSB Single Operator title. Meanwhile, another contesting ethics issue erupted in the aftermath of WPX SSB over whether the "59" signal report has to be sent as part of the exchange.

Active Sun Could Mean Wide Open CQ WW DX SSB Contest
With what may be the best solar conditions for propagation since 2002, the CQ WW DX SSB Contest arrives the last weekend in October with high hopes for both a big turnout and stellar scores. "This could very well be the best CQWW season in nearly a decade," said one top contester.

D4C (LY2CY) And VE3DZ/VP9 Lead 2008 WPX CW
A trip to the Cape Verde Islands seems to have paid off for Lithuanian contester Jurgis Ignotas LY2CY, as he holds the overall single operator lead in the 2008 CQ WPX CW Contest. The low power leader is Yuri Onipko VE3DZ, who operated from the VP9GE QTH on Bermuda. Meanwhile, CT9M leads all the multi-op entries, as there are tight races for various titles in the US and Europe.
