Everyone is cordially invited to the Summerland ARC Hamfest ("SARCFEST"). at the clubrooms, 414 Richmond Hill Road, Richmond Hill. 11km east of Lismore, off the Bruxner Highway.

After a Summer of controversy surrounding top entries in the 2008 CQ WW CW Contest, a new rule goes into effect in this year's contest, which will subject some of the expected top finishers in the Single Operator High Power category to open their shacks to checks by third party monitors during the contest. Washington State Salmon Run Next On State QSO Party Tour
This month has already seen QSO parties in Tennessee, Arkansas and Colorado - this weekend, the focus goes to the Pacific Northwest, where the Western Washington DX Club hosts the 2009 Salmon Run. It's all part of a state contest tour in coming weeks that will also go through Texas, California, Pennsylvania and Illinois, on the way to CQ WW SSB.

IARU Official Blasts Contesters For Out of Band Operations
In an unusually public criticism of contesters by a top IARU official, the President of IARU Region I blasted the conduct of some contesters in the recent 2010 CQ 160 SSB Contest, saying a number of stations from Europe and Africa were making contacts on frequencies not allocated to their countries, raising the specter of possible contest disqualifications.

ARRL Offers New Low Power Categories For ARRL DX
As operators prepare for the 2011 version of the ARRL DX CW Contest this weekend, ham radio contesters will have some new category choices to make thanks to some changes by the American Radio Relay League, as the Single Operator Assisted and the Multi-Single categories now have a Low Power option as well.
