Everyone is cordially invited to the Summerland ARC Hamfest ("SARCFEST"). at the clubrooms, 414 Richmond Hill Road, Richmond Hill. 11km east of Lismore, off the Bruxner Highway.

Island Hoppers Battle In 2008 IOTA
The last weekend in July is here, which means dozens of expeditions to islands around the world for the 2008 Islands On The Air Contest. Last year's test set a new record with almost 2,000 submitted logs and contest sponsors hope some better conditions on the high bands will mean a repeat performance.

NA Sprint CW Kicks Off Two Weekend WRTC Blitz
Hams in North America get the first of three shots in two weekends to grab qualifying points for the World Radiosport Team Championships as the North American Sprint CW Contest is first up in September. Next week brings the NA Sprint SSB, the same weekend as the Worked All Europe SSB test.

Records Fall As Bands Go Wide Open In WPX SSB
After years of post contest reviews that sounded similar themes of awful conditions on the HF high bands, contesters are hoping that things are now on the upswing after 48 hour contest with big openings on 10 and 15 meters, this time in the CQ WPX SSB test. "We finally got good conditions for a contest weekend!" said WPX Contest Director Randy Thompson K5ZD.

Contesters in North America get another crack at a World Radiosport Team Championship qualifying event this weekend, as the SSB leg of the North American QSO Party is on the schedule for contesters. Last weekend's NAQP was the usual furious affair, which was spiced up by some openings on 10 meters.
